Blizzard Entertainment is taking a hard stance against real-money trading (RMT) in World of Warcraft: Forever, and some of the game's most visible streamers are learning the hard way that nobody is above the rules.
A New Era for WoW Classic Economies
For years, World of Warcraft: Classic struggled with a deeply distorted in-game economy. The culprit? A combination of rampant gold selling and the controversial GDKP (Gold Dragon Kill Points) system, where players would bid enormous amounts of gold for boss loot. With Blizzard's enforcement of RMT being perceived as lax, millions of illicit gold flooded into Classic's servers, giving wealthy players an unfair advantage.

With World of Warcraft: Forever, Blizzard appears determined to write a different story. The developers announced a ban on GDKP before the beta even launched — a significant first step toward a fairer experience for everyone. But banning GDKP alone isn't enough. If RMT continues unchecked, players with disposable incomes will simply find new ways to manipulate the economy。
Streamers Feel the Wrath of Blizzard
Fortunately, early signs suggest Blizzard is serious about enforcement this time around. In just the past few days, several prominent Classic streamers have been penalized after being suspected of RMT involvement.
WoW commentator N_Tys26 tweeted a clip showing streamer Ziqo after Blizzard reportedly reclaimed a massive amount of his gold, leaving him with just 9 silver. The penalty stranded him in Stonetalon Mountains — a Horde-controlled zone — without enough gold to fly back to Stormwind. Ziqo got off relatively easy, though: his gold was wiped, but his account survived.
Others weren't so fortunate. N_Tys26 also shared footage of streamer Payo getting one of his accounts banned after promoting gold selling on his stream — despite Payo's claims that he has "never bought gold" in his life. Ironically, just a day before that clip surfaced, N_Tys26 posted another video of Payo begging his audience to buy gold on his behalf.

While that account was banned, Payo already has a new one up and running, and he's slated to compete in a $100,000 duelling tournament.
Are Streamers Targeted More Harshly?
It's worth asking whether streamers face stricter consequences simply because their actions are more visible. After all, thousands of viewers watch their every move — including Blizzard. The article's author reached out to Blizzard for comment on this disparity, but no response has been received yet.

Regardless, taking action against streamers who engage with or promote RMT sends a powerful message to the broader player base. If high-profile figures can't get away with it, average players are far less likely to risk their accounts.
Why This Matters for the Future of WoW: Forever
Blizzard's crackdown comes at a critical time. World of Warcraft: Forever is still in beta, and the decisions made now will shape the game's economy for years to come. The full release is scheduled for November 4, and players are hopeful that the economy won't suffer the same fate as Classic's — or at least that it will take much longer to deteriorate.
Blizzard has also invested significant effort into making Forever appeal to Classic veterans, including stricter enforcement against inappropriate player names — though results there have been mixed.
Building a Fairer Economy — and Where Z2U.com Comes In
For players looking to get a head start in World of Warcraft: Forever, whether through expansion content or in-game advantages, Z2U.com offers a reliable marketplace for World of Warcraft: Forever DLCs and Cheap WoW: Forever Expansion Packs. While Blizzard's crackdown on illicit gold trading continues to reshape the game's economy, platforms like Z2U.com provide legitimate options for players seeking to enhance their experience without risking their accounts.

As Blizzard tightens its grip on RMT, the message is clear: play fair, or face the consequences. And for those who want to explore everything World of Warcraft: Forever has to offer, doing so through trusted sources like Z2U.com is the smart — and safe — way forward.
Final Thoughts
Blizzard's willingness to act against RMT — even when it means penalizing popular streamers — is an encouraging sign. If the enforcement continues through launch and beyond, World of Warcraft: Forever could finally deliver the balanced, competitive Classic experience that players have been craving. The moneybags era may indeed be over. And that's a good thing for everyone who plays by the rules.
